Cumela Nederland is the sector organization for entrepreneurs in infrastructure. In total Cumela has 2,000 members who are all connected to each other. Cumela stands for informing, connecting, unburdening and supporting cumela companies in order to ensure that the infrastructure sector is potentially exploited and accepted, appreciated and recognized by society.
Cumela knows better than anyone that there are still too many accidents at work. More than 60 people die each year as a result of an industrial accident. Often because employees are not sufficiently aware of the dangers. Together with Cumela, Doop took the initiative to develop an online service for infrastructure companies, which contributes to optimizing safety within the company. The online service is intended to make employees aware of the urgency of safety in an effective (and more fun) way.
But to realize this, you first need knowledge from the sector! Because Doop is a fish to water in terms of creativity and technology, but has no idea what the infrastructure contains. But hey teamwork makes the dreamwork! That is why ‘Stigas’ (knowledge institute) provided the content for the toolboxes, Cumela promised to supply its members as a customer and Doop is responsible for the development of the online service and the visual identity.
After agreeing on a suitable name for the online service, our designers could start with a new branding, the logo and the matching visual images. After approval from the customer, the baton was passed on to our developers. They took care of the development of the service, consisting of an app and a web portal. The main premise of this process was: Keep it simple. The app is purely intended to make employees aware of the risks involved in their work, simply and quickly. The app must be user-friendly and have easy navigation. So no high-tech gadgets, but clarity! After a process that consisted of testing and adjusting feedback, the time had come: Safe Work is live!
And the result is impressive! A user-friendly, simple, but very efficient online service. The use of visual means, such as images and short videos, makes safety topics easy to understand important (and sometimes rather complex). In addition, Veilig Vakwerk helps companies to easily and quickly comply with the applicable VCA requirements and Working Conditions legislation. Because all the data is clearly arranged in the web portal, all the paperwork regarding the VCA requirements and Working Conditions legislation and the safety meetings is a thing of the past! And that saves a lot of grumbling and sour faces! Many organizations, from small to large, now use the Veilig Vakwerk app. More than 58,500 toolboxes and 9,000 workplace inspections have already been sent out digitally! Behind the scenes, we are constantly working on the innovation of the Veilig Vakwerk app. Developments within the branches are closely monitored and new functionalities are regularly introduced.
